Ilumitex® Still Going Strong 23 Years Later at Trinity Rest Homes, UK

The project

Twenty three years ago, Trinity House Rest Homes used Ilumitex to transform the main corridor walls of their residential houses, which are composed of one bedroom flats for the elderly.

The project carried out in the year 2000 centred on the requirement for a highly durable, easy to apply and visually appealing decorative wall solution. Ilumitex® was selected as the ideal system to fulfil many of the considerations of this busy rest home environment. From the extensive Ilumitex® Standard Range, Ilumitex® Pearl 424 was chosen for this project.

Twenty three years later from the day Ilumitex® was applied to the walls it is still in excellent condition today. Due to vibrations caused by the lifts very minor hair line cracks were touched up and made good without the necessity of a full redecoration.

Specification

Ilumitex® Pearl 424 composed of white and yellow flake combinations with a pearlescent finish was originally installed in the residential houses in 2000.

Ilumitex® has provided the charity owned care homes with huge cost saving benefits, as only specific areas of the walls required repair work and not the whole extensive wall space. The high traffic communal areas continue to benefit enormously from the hard-wearing advantages that Ilumitex® provides. Using environmentally based water paints with low odour the Ilumitex® system continues to be the perfect solution for this care home environment.
